Wildlife artist John H. Nemec, Jr. resides in the town of Peshtigo,
Wisconsin with his wife Kelly and their three young boys, Lex,
Levi and Lincoln. John has always had a great love for the outdoors
and if he is not at home spending time with his family, it's
a good bet that he's either wading a rock strewn river in search
of trophy smallmouth bass or he's in a tree stand, patiently
waiting for that big buck to step into bow range. But no matter
what he's doing out in the wild, one thing is certain, he's observing. |

Inspiration for most of his artwork was sparked from personal
experiences he has had while communing with nature. John's dedication
and passion for wildlife art has been rewarding the past few
years, starting with his first ever conservation stamp win back
in 2006. After finishing first runner-up the previous three years,
he entered the Wisconsin Pheasant Stamp Contest, he was finally
able to win the contest in 2006. |
|
He kept the winning streak going in 2007, winning the Wisconsin
Great Lakes Trout & Salmon Stamp Contest, and in 2008, the
Wisconsin Turkey Stamp contest. These wins have opened the door,
and his work has since been featured on the cover of multiple
outdoor magazines, including the Wisconsin Outdoor Journal, twice. |
|
Since graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, his goals have changed
little. Being a successful wildlife artist has always been the
dream. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, it is an aspiration
the artist feels is withing reach. |
